8. Reliable Appliances Limited has successfully adopted a functional structure for several years. But now with the
expansion of the product range to include air conditioners, microwave ovens and vacuum cleaners, the
organization finds it difficult to manage the operations. Do you think a product structure will help? Describe the
advantages and disadvantages of functional structure and product structure.

9. Subodh has served Translucent Technologies at its Noida office as Customer Support Associate for three years.
He is admired by all for his initiative, hard work, sincerity, and loyalty. In recognition of his contribution to the
organization, the management has promoted Subodh as Branch Manager and posted him at the Hyderabad office,
which has a staff strength of 110. Though elated at the offer, Subodh is not quite sure of his success in the new role
and hence is a bit nervous. Advise Subodh on the key elements of successful leadership.
